christopher j. ewing is a director and screenwriter living in los angeles with a girl and a 13-pound dog.

he grew up in northbrook, illinois before earning undergraduate degrees in journalism and creative writing from the university of wisconsin - madison in 2004. he earned a graduate degree in screenwriting and directing from the academy of art university in san francisco in 2008.

he writes, directs and scores his films, beginning with 2005's CRUELTY FREE, a short independent feature film made for $1,500. his short films have screened at festivals across the country and abroad.

christopher is also an entertainment journalist. he has written for such fine publications as the badger herald (where he served as arts editor), econoculture, paracinema, harmonium, coreweekly and is currently a staff writer for onlinerock.com and COVERS. he has been lucky to interview a diverse range of artists including michel gondry, death cab for cutie, bad religion, cursive, charlie kaufman, merzbow, the hold steady, beirut, tim kinsella, death from above 1979, stellastar*, robert luketic, junior senior and many others. his novella CHLORINE was published by reactor press in san francisco in 2007.
